About Us

A Part of
Local History
Beginning in 1943, Quebec Lodge operated as an Anglican church camp that welcomed campers of all backgrounds. After a period of summer camping in Leeds, Quebec, Bishop Philip Carrington led the establishment of the Lake Massawippi camp at a site in North Hatley.
In the early 1950s, the camp moved halfway down the east side of the lake where hundreds of children enjoyed their summers year after year.
Amid financial difficulties, the camp closed in 2005. This did not stop the local community who loved the camp and sought to preserve it for generations to come.
Former campers and neighbors from the region came together to form the Quebec Lodge Foundation. Through the Foundation, the camp reopened in 2016 in its historic location to offer an unforgettable summer experience to youth across Quebec (and beyond!).

Local History
Since 2016, Quebec Lodge operates as a secular, educational outdoor camp that emphasizes active, hands-on, small-group Environmental and Healthy Living Skills Education. Every year, campers experience the excitement of learning and growing in one of Quebec’s most beautiful locations on the shores of Lake Massawippi in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. The camp sits on 70 acres of pristine forest land and nature preserve. To retain the beauty of the region, we proudly utilize low-impact infrastructure based on the Leave No Trace principles.
Our small yurt villages provide an intimate and nurturing environment, and the low camper-to-trained staff ratio allows us to adapt to the needs of individual campers. The camp's supportive environment helps youngsters become more self-confident, enriched with greater self-esteem and social interaction skills. Our endowment fund subsidizes camper fees for low-income families. Quebec Lodge is for all children who want to experience the joy of camp.
Spending a summer at Quebec Lodge means spending the summer at one of the oldest camps in Quebec!

The heart of Quebec Lodge is the commitment to ensure that all children, regardless of financial means, are able to attend camp. Quebec Lodge's Mitchell Fund bursaries are made possible through the financial support of our donors. Bursaries are awarded strictly on financial need, up to a maximum of 80% of camp fees.
